Work At CR
Gabe Shenhar is the Associate Director of the Auto Test Program at Consumer Reports. He is a mechanical engineer and has been with CR since 1992. He is involved in on-road evaluations, heads technical report writing, designs the annual test program, and supervises test vehicle purchases. He spearheaded electric vehicle testing in 2010, including setting up CR’s charging infrastructure. Experience and Education
Gabe has been testing and evaluating cars since the late ’80s. A mechanical engineer by training, he has also completed several SAE vehicle dynamics workshops as well as advanced driving courses at Skip Barber and the Team O’Neil Rally School. A former member of BMW Car Club of America, he has also served as a driving instructor during track days and instructed new drivers at CR-hosted Street Survival courses. Gabe has been instrumental in creating CR’s various scoring themes for different vehicle types and spearheaded the electric vehicle charging infrastructure at CR’s Auto Test Center.
