Courtesy of the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy and the Alternative Fuels Data Center, Consumer Reports is sharing the Alternative Fueling Station Locator, which appears below.

The tool covers thousands of public fueling stations throughout the U.S.—more than 27,000 as of late July 2019—including electricity, biodiesel, compressed natural gas, ethanol E85, hydrogen, liquefied natural gas, and liquid petroleum gas.

It's easiest to find alternative fueling stations by entering your location on the left side of the tool. If you want to navigate around the map, use your mouse or click on the +/- signs. For those of you on a mobile device, use this version of the locator.

As the Alternative Fuels Data Center notes, contact a fueling station to verify its location, hours of operation, and access. You wouldn't want to drive to a location with your fuel running low only to find out that the station isn't open or has moved.
