The Delta Children Koi by the Bed Bassinet is part of the Bassinets test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Traditional Bassinet models are rated on multiple criteria, as listed below.
Our Safety tests ensure that each bassinet meets federal safety guidelines. Among other tests, we assess the firmness of the sleep surface and use an inclinometer to ensure that the sleep surface never reaches an incline of ten degrees or greater, which can be dangerous to the baby's airflow. We also look for materials that promote airflow in the baby's sleep environment, such as mesh panels.
Convenience takes into account the ease of lifting and carrying the bassinet around the home, onboard storage such a basket, shelf or pockets, and how easy it is to clean and maintain the bassinet's fabrics and frame.
Design takes into account breathability of the side walls, whether the frame height is adjustable, how easy it is to access the baby, and how travel-ready or packable the bassinet is.
Ease of Assembly takes into account the number of parts, the number of steps and the number of actions in each step.
