New-car buyers have hundreds of vehicles to choose from, so picking the perfect car, minivan, SUV, or truck can be a time-consuming process. While the fun part may be the test drive, most of that time involves significant research comparing pricing, features, and safety. A savvy shopper might factor in a model’s reliability. But wouldn’t it be great if you could find out how happy car buyers are with their vehicles?

You can, because Consumer Reports asks members about their car purchases each year. They provide great insights by answering one question: If you had it to do all over again, would you definitely buy or lease the same model?

More on Car Owner Satisfaction & Reliability

Our latest owner satisfaction survey reinforces that the models that deliver the promised performance, efficiency, roominess, luxury, and/or comfort are the ones owners will readily buy again. But the bar for true excellence is continually being raised.

Combined with CR’s tests and reliability ratings, our owner satisfaction ratings give you valuable guidance when you’re shopping for a vehicle. (Detailed information is available on our car model pages.)

Keep in mind that the cars owners love aren’t necessarily the ones that excel in our testing. “A vehicle could have below-average reliability or not be a standout in our testing and still make owners happy,” says Steven Elek, who oversees auto data analytics at CR.

We’ve ranked the 10 most satisfying cars based on our latest survey, starting at the top. Each vehicle is shown with the percentage of owners who would definitely buy it again, along with the car’s key ratings.
